Oslo

Oslo is a modern and diverse city in constant growth, full of cultural and culinary highlights. The compact city center is easy to explore and a stroll along the Harbour Promenade is recommended. Start in Bjørvika where you will find MUNCH – Edvard Munch’s spectacular home, the city’s main library Deichman Bjørvika, and the beautiful Opera building. Further west at Aker Brygge is the National Museum – the Nordic region’s largest art museum, and not least the wonderful Astrup Fearnley Museet at the far end of Tjuvholmen.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Vigeland Park We arrive in Norway’s capital Oslo, the city that never stands still. The bustling streets are filled with innovative architecture, world-class museums and great restaurants. We start with a city tour to get our bearings, then stop at the Vigeland Park and take a stroll among Gustav Vigeland’s many sculptures. After checking in at our hotel, we gather for dinner.
  • Day 2: Kon-Tiki and dinner cruise After breakfast we head to the Kon-Tiki Museum. In addition to seeing the famous Kon-Tiki raft that Thor Heyerdahl used to cross the Pacific Ocean, we get an insight into the life of the fascinating explorer. We go on to Holmenkollen and the famous jumping tower. In the beautiful surroundings we will be served lunch and then we go back into Oslo to have some free time on our own. In the evening we gather for a cruise on the Oslofjord and enjoy good food and drinks.
  • Day 3: Today’s adventure starts with the MUNCH Museum, one of the largest museums in the world dedicated to a single artist. Edvard Munch was one of the most important modernist artists and he bequeathed all his art to the city of Oslo. As well as being filled with over 40,000 works, the building itself is a true work of art. A short distance away is the Opera House, another architectural masterpiece, and you can take a walk up to the roof to enjoy the stunning views. Inside the Opera House is the Sanguine Brasserie where we will have today´s lunch, followed by a guided tour of the premises. In the evening, dinner is served at our hotel.
