BOHUSLÄN

Follow the smuggler king Bremer and his adventures in the Koster Archipelago. How he fooled the customs and lured them ashore in the dangerous waters. In the heart of Bohuslän we follow in the footsteps of Evert Taube.

Dagsprogram

  • Day 1: Uddevalla We start our journey towards Bohuslän and during the day we arrive at one of the main towns, Uddevalla. We visit Bohusläns Museum where we get the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with Bohuslän and its history. We check in at our hotel and gather for a joint dinner in the hotel’s dining room from where we have a fantastic view of the Byfjord. The evening can be concluded with a nice walk.
  • Day 2: Smuggler cruise After breakfast, it’s time for today’s adventure. In the harbor in Strömstad, our boat and the smuggler king Bremer himself are waiting. During the journey to Koster, we hear the story of his adventures in the Bohuslän archipelago. How he fooled the customs officers and lured them onto the ground in the dangerous waters. Liquor flowed between the ships and a few drinks probably slipped down the smugglers’ throats. Business was done at the prestigious Grand Hotel, just a stone’s throw from the customs office. We make a stop at Ursholmen, Sweden’s westernmost lighthouse, and then continue towards Koster and Ekenäs. Lunch is served at Pensionat Ekenäs and we visit Naturrum. By electric bus we travel across the island and stop at Koster’s Hembygdsmuseum. In Långagärde, the boat is waiting to take us back to Strömstad and the bus that takes us to the hotel. In the evening we have dinner together.
  • Day 3: The foot steps of Evert Taube Today, together with a local guide, we will visit the southern parts of Bohuslän with the islands of Tjörn and Orust. We follow the E6 south to Stenungsund, the Nordic Petrochemical Center, and from here we cross the Tjörn Bridge onto Tjörn. The journey continues south on the island via idyllic fishing villages and bare rocks. Via Skärhamn we continue north on the island and soon reach the larger island of Orust. Now we are really in something that we could call “in the footsteps of Evert Taube”. Here, in the heart of Bohuslän, Evert Taube found inspiration for some of his most beloved songs. We take the ferry across the Malö streams and arrive at Flatön, where we still have the merchant Flink. We make a stop here so that we can experience the wonderful atmosphere on our own. We then go on via the Boknäset peninsula and from there by ferry across the Gullmarsfjord. After a fantastic day, certainly with Taube singing in the bus, we gather again for dinner together
  • Day 4: Departure As usual, we start our day with breakfast. Both the memories of the smuggler king and the Taube feeling remain in the bus as we head towards our home town.
